Mr. Sun Yat-sen said that Jiujiang will become “the only commercial port in JiangxiProvince and the center of railways from north to south in China.” After investigation in 1993 Japanese international Xieli enterprise considered: “Jiujiang situates on very important position, economic communication transfer city will be its figure in the future and it has long-rang of prospects for development.” In 1994, the StateCouncilDevelopmentResearchCenter had investigated exploitation along the Beijing-Kowloon railway line, and believed that Jiujang has advantages to become the economy commanding elevation in the middle of Beijing-Kowloon railway.

Jiang Zeming, general secretary, came to Jiujiang in person in March, 1995, and he places great hopes on perspective of Jiujiang and said Jiujiang is in the middle of Beijing-Kowloon railway, there are Yangtze River, Mt.Lushan, and PoyangLake, Jiujiang has boundless future!
