Jiujiang is located between longitude 113o57¡¯E. and 116o53¡¯E. and latitude 28o47¡¯N. and 30o06¡¯N.. The physical features of Jiujiang is that the east and the west are high and middle part is low and the south is higher, the average elevation is 32m(elevation of urban district is 20m), the highest peak is the Jiuling Mountain 1794m high in Xiushui. The lowest place of Jiujiang is the bottom of the PoyangLake nearby frog stone in XingziCounty, about -9.37m elevation. The mountainous areas comprise 16.4% of the total of Jiujiang, hilly land 44.5%, lakes 18%.
