Recently, it was learned from the Jiujiang Municipal Housing and Urban-Rural Development Bureau that in order to ensure the completion of our province’s 2025 affordable housing project targets set by the state, Jiujiang plans to commence the renovation of 1,698 households in urban villages and construct 1,271 units of resettlement housing this year.
According to the requirements, our city will further strengthen the construction of affordable housing projects, steadily carry out the construction and management of affordable housing, and promote the transformation of urban villages, shantytowns (urban dilapidated houses), and old urban residential communities. This year, our city plans to begin construction on 360 units of affordable rental housing; 1698 households in urban villages have started renovation and 1271 sets of resettlement housing have been constructed; 1035 shantytowns (urban dilapidated houses)have started renovation and 131 resettlement housing units have been constructed; the new construction task for the renovation of old urban residential communities includes 16 residential communities, 334 buildings, 1,0213 households, covering an area of 1.1129 million square meters. The completed task includes 146 residential communities, 4,436 buildings, 10,1554 households, with an area of 8.465 million square meters. The city has distributed rental subsidies to 2083 eligible households under the housing supply and support program.
