From June 24th to 26th, a 12-member delegation led by Lee Chang-woo, Deputy County Chief of Jeongseon County, South Korea, visited Jiujiang. Jiujiang's Deputy Mayor Mr. Xiong Jinxi held talks with the delegation.
Deputy Mayor Mr.Xiong Jinxi stated that since the establishment of their friendship relationship, the two sides have maintained close contact, with particularly distinctive exchanges in the cultural field. He expressed that both sides would uphold the original intent of their friendship, adhere to mutual benefit and win-win outcomes, and continue to carry out exchanges and cooperation in intangible cultural heritage and tourism projects. Deputy County Chief Lee Chang-woo remarked that this visit deepened their understanding of Jiujiang. He enthusiastically invited Jiujiang to send an intangible cultural heritage delegation to perform at this year's Jeongseon Arirang Festival and hoped that the musical "Ari·Arari" could be staged in Jiujiang in the future, thereby continuously advancing exchanges and cooperation in culture, tourism, sports, and other fields.
Jiujiang City and Jeongseon County had established sister city relationship in 2017.Jiujiang has successively sent intangible cultural heritage troupes, such as the Hukou Qingyang Opera and Yongxiu Yaya Opera, to perform at the Jeongseon Arirang Festival, receiving high acclaim.
During their visit, the Jeongseon County delegation toured the Jiujiang Territorial Space Planning Exhibition Hall, Donglin Temple, the National Yangtze River Cultural Park (Jiujiang Section), and the Jiujiang Museum, immersing themselves in Jiangxi's profound historical and cultural heritage.
