Jiujiang Rowing Rising Star Tang Haiqi Wins Bronze at National Games

On November 10, the rowing finals of the 15th National Games were held in Guangzhou. In partnership with his teammate, Jiujiang's outstanding athlete Tang Haiqi demonstrated seamless coordination and delivered an exceptional performance.Competing in the fiercely-contested Lightweight Men's 1500m Double Sculls event, they exerted their utmost effort and ultimately secured the bronze medal. This achievement earned valuable honors for the Jiangxi delegation and brought renewed pride to his hometown of Jiujiang.

Born in 2003, Tang Haiqi was discovered and selected by Zhang Tao, a coach from the municipal sports school, at Pengze County No.1 Middle School in 2016. He subsequently began systematic rowing training at the sports school. Coach Zhang Tao remarked, "Tang Haiqi is a highly talented and exceptionally hard-working athlete. He has a strong, competitive character and never gives up, pushing himself to the limit in every training session." Fueled by this tenacity and tireless effort, Tang consistently excelled against national competition. He embodies the spirit of young athletes from Jiujiang and has set a powerful example for the youth in his hometown, inspiring them to pursue their dreams courageously.
