Consul General of Singapore in Xiamen Visits Jiujiang

On March 3, Mr. Chng Tze Chia, Consul General of Singapore in Xiamen, led a delegation of Singaporean business representatives to Jiujiang. Mr. Bao Chenggeng, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Jiujiang Municipal Committee and Executive Vice Mayor of Jiujiang, met with the delegation. The two sides held in-depth discussions on advancing practical cooperation.

On behalf of the CPC Jiujiang Municipal Committee and the Jiujiang Municipal Government, Bao Chenggeng extended a warm welcome to the delegation and expressed sincere appreciation for the long-standing support from Singaporean enterprises for Jiujiang’s development. He noted that the Jiangxi Provincial Party Committee and Government attach great importance to the development of the China-Singapore (Jiangxi) Industrial Park. Jiujiang is striving to build itself into a key node city along the Yangtze River Economic Belt, while Poyang Lake Eco-Technology City is being developed into a leading zone for fostering new quality productive forces. He expressed the hope to strengthen collaboration with Singaporean enterprises and economic organizations, welcomed foreign investment in Jiujiang, and encouraged local companies to leverage Singapore’s resources to expand into Southeast Asia and the global market.

Chng Tze Chia spoke highly of Jiujiang’s rich cultural heritage, strategic location, and solid industrial foundation. He noted that the Consulate General is committed to serving as a bridge for communication and facilitating Singaporean enterprises’ investment in China. He added that the Consulate will actively promote Jiujiang and work to deepen economic and trade engagement.

During the visit, the delegation attended the unveiling ceremony of the “WESer Awesome(Youth International Development Center)” in the Robot Town of Poyang Lake Eco-Technology City. Chng Tze Chia remarked that cooperation between the Eco-Technology City and WES Group would provide broader opportunities for youth learning and exchanges, adding that the Consulate General will continue to support local cooperation between China and Singapore in education and technology.

The delegation also visited the Bailudong Academy, where they gained insights into the distinctive features of traditional Chinese education, laying a solid foundation for further cooperation.
