In the first quarter of 2026, Jiujiang Port achieved a total cargo throughput of 55.9573 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 0.17 percent, and handled 245,000 TEUs of containers, up by 8.55 percent year on year. In April, the international direct shipping route from Jiujiang Port (China) to Mokpo Port (South Korea) resumed smoothly, shortening the logistics cycle for Jiangxi’s steel products exports from over half a month to just 5-7 days and reducing the risk of product damage during transportation. Therefore, the competitiveness of products “Made in Jiangxi” has been significantly enhanced. In collaboration with relevant authorities including maritime safety administration, customs, immigration administration, and maritime pilots association, Jiujiang Port has established a “one-stop” customs clearance coordination mechanism aiming to ensure the efficient navigation of vessels.
Since the beginning of 2026, Jiujiang Port has made coordinated efforts in four key areas: port infrastructure construction, logistics network expansion, port service optimization, and smart port empowerment. The construction of multiple terminal projects has been advanced, cross-departmental collaboration has been deepened, international shipping routes have been expanded, voyage frequencies have been raised, and the waterborne freight logistics service “Gan Hu Tong”, jointly initiated by Shanghai International Port (Group) Co., Ltd (SIPG) and Jiangxi Provincial Port Group Co., Ltd has been proactively promoted and applied. All these efforts have facilitated the export of goods from Jiangxi province via Jiujiang Port, and helped to reduce cost and improve efficiency. Meanwhile, steady progress has been made in constructing a smart port and shipping system. The shipping service system has been steadily improved, and the port’s comprehensive governance capacity has been continuously strengthened, laying a solid foundation for the high-quality development of Jiujiang Port.
