On May 20, “Ning Yuan Dian Peng”, the second 10,000-ton pure electric intelligent container ship built by Jiangxi Jiangxin Shipbuilding Co., Ltd, set sail from Hukou County, Jiujiang City, for its sea trial.
The vessel measures 127.8 meters in length, 21.6 meters in width, 10.5 meters in molded depth, with a maximum speed of 11.5 knots and a capacity of 740 standard 20-foot container slots. Powered by 10 containerized batteries, it can be charged via high-voltage power connection or fast battery swapping with hoisted containerized batteries. Besides, the vessel is equipped with a photovoltaic system to provide renewable energy for operational needs, achieving zero emissions throughout navigation, berthing and cargo handling.
In April this year, its sister ship “Ning Yuan Dian Kun” set sail on its maiden voyage from the Beilun Port area of Ningbo-Zhoushan Port. Once both vessels are fully commissioned, they will enable scaled operations on scheduled routes.
